Inquiry

Inventing a open closed shoe/ 2 in 1 shoe.
The last couple of weeks I am been Inventing the 2 in 1 shoe/ open closed shoe. It is a shoe that can be closed and open. We used some velcro and fabric to make it a open closed shoe. We were planning what we wanted to make and what we are going to do. We learned about profit and money.


Reflection about my invention
My most enjoyable part was when I was making it and putting the fabric on my shoe and back on because it was a bit confusing.
The hardest part was to present it to the class and tell all the information, because you need to talk to all the people and it is a bit scary.
If I was going to do this again I shouldn't change anything about it because the fabric goes easy on and of and it is a perfect open closed shoe.
I have learned how to think about what you are going to do make a plan and think about money that it is not to easy you don't have to make a lot of profit to make money.
The most scariest moment was to stand for the class and presenting but it wasn't like that scary.
The most boring part was when we sat down at Monday the 24th of November because we sat at the mat listening to other people and sitting 1:30 at the mat.
The most embarrassing part was when I was making it and some people laughed.
When I was standing in front of the dragons it was scary because you were standing up for the whole class.
The most breathtaking moment was when the dragons ask really hard questions because we didn't know the answer.
The most messiest part was when we saw that our document that was printed was a bit wrong.

The invention

My class is Inventing things. I am inventing a shoe and a sandal in one. The order goes like this:

My shoe works like this: If you have a sandal underneath has two of them the one that your walking on is soft and it is with velcro sticking. In the box you have some of these to put on the top. If you want a closed shoe you get one underneath than you ad it on the top and now you have a closed shoe!

Penguins Activities

Penguins Activities.

Sequel from the whale on the end of the video
The whale landed on the man and the man drops through the ice. He is swimming to the edge try and climb up and the penguins push him of the ice. Than he tried again and try’s to be fast now he is on the ice and he is rowing back to home.

Flying Penguins:

The sciencetistices has proven that the penguins can fly. They tried a lot of things and they  got it they can fly. They try it now by other sorts of penguin. They look of they are flying either but until now one sort of penguins can fly.

Story
Animals what can they do or what can’t they do? Us human think that penguins can’t fly, but do they fly when we're not looking? This story is about a brainstorm what animals can do behind our back. The kangaroo australian animal. The kangaroo always jump when we are looking but can they walk? Can turtles go faster than what we are seeing now? All those questions cut be a yes they can do it behind us back. It cut be a now and doing everything what we now.

This man tried to prove that penguins can fly and want to video it but when the camera is up the penguins are not flying, but when the camera isn’t up they fly. He kicks his camera and it is broken they

Why penguins don’t want to be on a camera.
The penguins don’t want to be on the camera because they can be used for everything: Sending messages put animals together. They don’t want to be like dove. Maybe they get as a pet and they got high in a cage.

The first picture is a theme park from exactly     $500 000. We did this by maths the second picture: The left above is what I brought. Right above is about running the theme park. The big one under is how many profit I make. Profit is what you will get every day.

Maths Paper Planes

 WALT: Create a assertion make 5 paper plans from your assertion and make a scatter plot.
My assertion was: How smaller the wingspan is a further is will fly.

This is my scatter plot. On the bottom is the distance and on the side is the wingspan from the airplane.
This photo is showing the shapes of the scatter plot and you can sea which is which. The text beside it: This scatter plot means that my assertion was right look at paper plane 2 the smallest wingspan and fly the longest distance.

Pangrams

Pangram:
Pangrams is a sentence that has all the letters of the alphabet.
Here is the one that we did together with a group.

A pangram is a sentence that uses all the letters of the English alphabet. Here are two examples:
  • the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog
  • the five boxing wizards jump quickly

Your first collaborative group task is to create an interesting PANGRAM. How creative can you be?
Time limit (10mins) Team competition! Who is the fastest, yet most creative with perfect spelling and perfect punctuation?
A quick but lazy fox and pig called Jack and Revin were running through the middle of the  big forest.

Group Reflection (what did we notice about this task?)

It was hard to think of all of the letters in the alphabet. We learn’t to go back and check that we had all of the letters. We had a really good team because we started with a basic sentence and it came bigger and bigger and bigger with each other words and finally we got all the letters from the alphabet.

Writing learning

In writing we are learning to write a narrative.I write a narrative what does it actually need?

It needs a introduction then you explain the character and and were it happens and when it happens.

Then the next paragraphs comes and then you start to build up a problem. The next paragraph is the real problem. Then you make the problem bigger.

The next paragraph is to solve the problem the resolution. Then you think about a solution and then that paragraph is finished.

The last paragraph is the conclusion what they learned and what they going to do next.

Now I will show you my narrative:
The Beautiful Princess Who Was Locked Up!

Early very early in the morning a princess woke up in a big old but beautiful house. She had beautiful blonde hair and a incredible skin color. Her brain was thinking of activities that she could discover later on in the week. Then suddenly she heard an echo of the hollow door knocking, it sounded like sharp fingernails scraping down a chalkboard, on the door of the old house. “Who is it? Is it a horrible monster or a friend who wants to play?”

She opened door and saw a horrible monster. He grabbed her and brought her to his master who said,  “Take her to the haunted house.” The monster carried her to the haunted house. Now he locked the door of the haunted house so she couldn't escape.

After 3 hours  the master came and said, “Hello! I am Christiane and I am the meanest criminal in the whole world.  I love princesses because I can give you back to your father but I want lots of money. I want 1 million NZD.” The princess was listening but she didn’t take any interest in what he was saying.

The princess was thinking to herself. “I am  good at fighting and I am going to kick you!” She didn’t know what was going to happen. She kicked Christiane and he fell down. The master got the key and she didn’t know so she ran to the door.  She kicked Christiane again and grabbed the key. She ran as fast as she could back to her house.

At last she was finally home. Suddenly someone knocked on the door with their fingers and the princess asked, “Who are you?” She said,  “I am your friend Annelise. I want to play with you.” Annelise said “Why did you asked that?” “Because I where thinking that you were a horrible monster is but I learnt to ask who is knocking on the door, but anyway lets go and play.”

Reading learning

In reading we are learning to read a book and than you make an activity what is about the book. 

Last time we most read a book and make the car from the book.
I did it in a drawing document.

We can either answer some questions from the book and that is then on a sheet.

Maths learning

I am learning about ratios.

What are ratios? Ratios are sometimes fractions. like: 4:6 = 4/6
but if you have 5/3 than it is 3/8 or 5/8.

I either learning to change fractions to decimals or fractions to percentages like 3/5 is 60%


Art centre

On the 4th of September we went to the art center called Carban.

I enjoy to make the face. You do not thinking what am I going to do next NO! You are just doing it.

The challenge was to start. You don't have plans and if you coming with 1 big thing than you.

If I where doing this again I shut add some feet and legs.
I got not enough time because I where looking for a big or you look what is going in you head?

Reading Race At Sky Tower.

Today at reading we were reading this website:http://www.kiwikidsnews.co.nz/race-sky-tower and answered the recall questions:
1. Who is the main character in this news article?
It is Brent Austin because he came 10th on the race.

2. What was the key event from the article?
That some people help people with raising money for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer.

3. Where did this event take place?
It was in auckland in the sky tower.

4. When did this event take place?
It happens in May. On the 17th of May

5. Why did this event happens?
To help people with Leukaemia and Blood Cancer.

Rapunzel

We went to a Rapunzel show on 29/8/14.

The show started with a cow and Pinocchio he did a act then came the sleepy princess. Now came Rapunzel she won the x-vector. She cut be a star but she didn't want to be. The cow put Rapunzel in a tower and she locked up and the cow stole her voice. Then there came a price he helped her and then she got her voice back.

I liked the show because there was some cool rapping in like Ra-punzel Ra-punzel.

Maths Challenge

Today was part of maths week we had lots of fun because we did some stuff over maths and some things was no maths.

Three activities we did were:
 This one task is just follow the right and don't cross over of something like that.


This sheet is about looking to the letters:
A=1    B=2   C=3   D=4 and to Z.

At the bottom There is a secret message and you need to figure out with here above the number tells the letter.
This about numbers in how many numbers it can be divided. We need to know what it means.

Wearable art


The week before we did some drawings for my wearable art and i created an outfit using a plan:
The blue is the box that we going to spray paint. and at the top there are white things for the waves because I am reflecting water. That green is the plants on the bottom

On Monday I started to create a box that I fits and I cut the top and the bottom and then I tried to tied. But then I tried to put it on but it didn't fit. so I put on the back some dust and now it fits.

On Tuesday I made a skirt out of some dust and plastic the plastic i am going to spray pain it green.
 This is the box! Not spray painted jet.

Reflection: 
Yesterday i completed the skirt and the dust on the  box and skirt. Either I put some plastic on the skirt.

I had difficulty with the glue glans because I use them never and you can burn you're self.

I found out that you plans sometimes changes like my skirt is extra because I didn't draw the skirt.I found also out that it is easy if you do it but if you think about it you think it is hard.

Working by my self is easy because you don't need to listen to somebody. And you can go your own way.

Does your outfit reflect your element yes if i have done the spray painting than reflect it my element.

The torbay learning mode help my to think about my outfit and all then you have an idea what you want to make and you can started with doing it.

Feel reflection!
overall I feel  happy because I made a cool outfit with out a base ad at all I enjoyed.

The biggest success was the skirt because I didn't plan a skirt. And I made a skirt.

My most enjoyed part was making the skirt, because you need to make a knot all and I like to make a knot.

The hardest part was to make the box to glue it all and the ribbon to do the cross over.

If I was to do this again I don't change anything from the box but draw a skirt with that.

I have learnt how to make it fits with the ribbon and how to make a skirt with the ropes.

The other Mother

We have been reading about my other mother.

It made me thinking about  That my dad was going to NZ. I and my sisters, mother staying in the Netherlands. I was really sad when he leaves. When we came to NZ I gave my dad a big big cuddle.

The book was about: It was going about a boy that was called Matt. He has a stepmother and he was thinking that she was terrible because he couldn't go on holiday because Jenny the stepmother doesn't want to. He was now thinking that Jenny was terrible.

I remember when  The Mother and Dad was leaving Matt and he asked "can't i really come with you?" And dad said"no".

Holiday to Australia

My holiday to Australia:

The black snake


On Thursday the 3rd of July my family went to Australia for a nice holiday. We arrived at the airport in the car. After parking the car we stepped into the airplane. We arrived on the airport in Australia. We call a taxi. We stepped in the taxi and went to the camper shop. We got our camper and went to a walk.


We advance to a walk we came to a shop. We advance with a bus to the walk. We were walking and walking it was fun we were geocache. If you don’t what that is then you need to read this. It is a hidden box it can be big but it can be small. It is everywhere on the world from one side to the other site.


We were walking AAAH! My big sister stepped on a snake of just over. It was there over. We didn't know what it kind of snake is. Then there came a Australier and he says it is a python. We take some movies and photos.

Than we were finished with the walk. We went with the bus back and then to the camper. We were on the picnic and saw another Australier. We asked again what for kind of a snake is. He says a black snake. I enjoyed the black snake.

There was a men that really want to be a hero, because his name is hero. He is in everything good. 
One time he saw 2 children in the river.
He jumped in the river and grape the 2 children.
He swims back with his legs. Everyone from the city was watching. He was a hero! The next day he saw a child fall over and on her knee was blood.   He get the bag of plasters and put a plaster on her knee. She can walk again. body was watching. He was a hero.

The scary monster in the castle

The scary monster in the castle.
There is a rock in the sea with a castle on top. Who is living in that crazy castle are they monsters? BROWWWW! Yes there is a monster in that castle, its very SCARY!
The people are in the sea playing. They have lots of fun. They don’t know about the monster. BROWWWW! They hear a monster from that castle. The people are now out of the sea they run and run away from the monster.
Now are coming other people back. They swim in the sea. Really quiet is the monster coming, no one is hearing him, because they have lots of fun. And then BOEM! The monster comes. Everyone is running away but the monster is quicker. He is standing all for the people that are running away. The shocked people are running an other way. The monster don’t know were they going and lost them.
He is very angry about it. He thinks: “I am going to get some crocodiles”. The people are happy that they are still alive from that scary monster.
The crocodiles. are either away because he was roaring. He looks for some other big animals but they all away. From that roaring. The monster thinks: “I am never roaring again”.

Capacity

Today I was learning about capacity

I found out that if I metering the containers I can not throw water beside the container so I found out that you need to work careful.

I wondered that the biggest container was 1.5L, and I  wondered that the littlest one was 180ML.

It was tricky because you need to put all the water in the container, and you need to know what exactly in the container.

I enjoyed to put the water in there because it was a little bit funny when something was going next to it.

I didn't enjoyed that the class was yelling so it was really hard to understand each other.

camp feelings

Camp feelings

  • I feel me in it begin excited
  • I was looked the flying fox because everybody said it is amazing
  • I was surprised that eating just normal was with meat, potato and vegetable.
  •  more groups and activities because you have then more turns.
  • the best meal was chips,peas and sausage because I like the chips I love it and peas I can eat it just,and the sausage were very nice. I have not any worse meal
  • I did learn how to go with a compass
    1. put the arrow on the north.
    2. arrow on the plastic self must look at where you going.
    3. walk and count how many steps.
